Confessions Of An Abstaining Geek

Soo... I seem to be starting a lot of essays/posts/letters with that word, "so". Anyway;

Exam time is nearing, and yet I've decided that this is the right time for me to dive back into Geekdom.

You see, my dear reader(s), I have a confession to make. I am a self-professed House addict, and yet it takes me a whole bloody week to actually sit down and watch the latest episode. Sad, I know.

But what's even sadder is that I'm supposed to be an Anime addict, and yet I haven't seen a single Anime episode in ages! I've read tons of fanfiction and listened to loads of related music, but those don't really count. The reason behind this withdrawal has something to do with a word beginning with 'D' and ending with 'epression', but that's another blogpost altogether.

The point is, I have put me foot down and decided that feck it, I *am* shuttling back to Geekdom! Feck if it hurts! I will ignore the twinging sensation in my chest and just keep on chewing Pocky and chugging... Red Bull, actually... if all goes well.

As of now I am facing a rigorous schedule of 10 Bleach episodes per day until I finally catch up with the latest ones. I sincerely hope my heart does not fail on me and that I live to survive House and Cuddy shag each other (oopsie). Nevertheless, I expect to be all caught up on the 11th.

After the aforementioned Bleach marathon I shall be rewatching the entire Death Note series. That shouldn't be too hard...

...Oh who the hell am I kidding? After L's untimely croakage I'm sure I'll be once again struggling to continue!

But yes, there are a lot of series I want to rewatch anyway. Cowboy Bebop comes to mind. Perhaps I should reread Tolkien's masterpiece as well? I should do that. After exams.

In any case, I must depart now. My hasty return to Geekdom starts tomorrow.

May the heart survive.

I value your opinion. I value rejecting your opinion.

Of Tests, Thoughts and Bedheads

I just drank another packet of iced coffee. I'm waiting for the effects to kick in, then I'll start reading for me history test tomorrow.

In the meantime, I'm watching The Daily Show. Or at least, listening to it.

I had a math test today. Never did I think that I'd ever take another test that would make me want to cry. Screw that subject!! My mother was very gracious about it though. I talked to her about it, and she made me realize that it is a part of the whole human experience to make mistakes. I love my mother.

And this thought entered my mind a few moments ago. I realized that right at this moment, something horrible is happening to someone, somewhere else in the world. Someone could be murdering someone, or being murdered, or waking up in a puddle of blood, or being rushed to the hospital with terrible injuries.

My mind comes up with these things when I am completely tired. I should start painting them sometimes.

And today... oh Elessar... the bedhead. The BEDHEAD!! Me thinks there is no sexier hairstyle a man could have than the bedhead. Oh dear Elessar. Oh Elbereth!

I should go and start reading now.

In the '60s and '70s, people used acid to make the world look different. Now today, people take Prozac to make it look normal.

Exhaustion

February 5, 2008
Mood: completely and utterly exhausted

I must be insane.

I just spent the most part of my day writing two separate essays. All in 5 hours or so. And now I'm setting myself up to write some more... No, no more essays. Just this.

I can't help but notice that I'm making more spelling mistakes than usual... A sign?

I'm tired. I'm really really tired. It's not good for me to be tired. Cause then my guard is down and my personal demons all attack me.

*sigh*

I miss a person, and I miss him terribly. I like spending time with him, yet when I'm with him I can't wait to escape. I hate the way I miss him, because the moment I get to be with him I feel too awkward and just want to push him away.

He called today to ask me about something. After I hung up, I held up my phone in front of me, pushed the "end" button twice and then yelled, "I MISS YOU!!! :'("

This was supposed to be a funnier and longer post. But I've said what I needed to say, and I'm really tired. And I'm being attacked. So I say, goodbye for now.

Least Of Your Worries

January 11, 2008
Mood: Too busy cramming to even feel anything

Midterms are kinda killing me right now.

But they are fun. And I'm sure that by saying that, a thousand students just cried out in outrage. Yeah well, whatever. I dunno what's come over me. I used to despise exams, but now I'm actually relishing them. Wow. I should see a psychiatrist or something.

Anyways, can't stay long. I have a test in geography tomorrow, and as of now I still have 7 pages to read and to write notes about, and I still have to go over this reviewer thingie.

Before I depart, however, I leave this quote that our Social Studies teacher has so graciously written in on our test papers:

"There is war and need in the world, so no one feels sorry for you because you have an exam."

I love that quote. On so many different levels.

Bye for now.

All Is Well

January 7, 2008
Mood: Completely and utterly blissful

Some days, everything just seems to go right.

Today was just fantastic. :D

Despite my worries last night, I was able to wake up at 6 am. True, I suddenly awakened at 3 am for unknown reasons, but maybe it was just my Circadian rhythm acting up, after being thoroughly screwed over by Christmas break. xD

So yeah. It was a good start, then I made this [stupid] decision to walk to school even with the 8 inches of snow piled up all around me. A daunting task, and a really hare-brained one too.

But it's all good. Something else made up for it. :) Or rather, someone.

Then our science teacher gave us our test results. I got an A! Awesome!

But the clincher for this wonderful day...

I got a card from a friend, which is awesome enough. However, I also got a present from another friend. It was a gift for moi; a gift which caused me to run around the house, bouncing and squeeing whilst clutching her letter.

It pwned.

I love her lots. :D

And I'm never taking this wristband off.

Exams, Filthy Rooms and Wisdom Teeth

June 14, 2007
Mood: bored

I just finished my exams. Yay for me!!

So now, my room looks like a disaster area. I think cleaning up will keep me busy for a couple of days. Right now, clothes, both clean and used, are strewn all over the room. Papers are scattered all around... my bookshelf is a mess... my bed hasn't been made for days... yeah.

I don't know. It's kind of a mystery. It's a propensity for all warm-blooded, normal, human students to have a filthy room during exam time. It's kind of an unwritten law, really. Maybe it's because the messier your room is, the more intelligent and hard-working you seem? Like, it shows that you have no time whatsoever to clean up because you are devoting each and every waking hour to studying for the exam...

And I so want to write a lot of stuff... but I'm feeling too lazy to do so. I'm drained, people. Besides, all four of my wisdom teeth are growing simultaneously right now, and it sucks. Especially the two on the left side. The one at the bottom keeps throbbing like hell... and the one at the top is causing a sore at the inside of my cheek. I hate it. I'm going to get them both extracted as soon as possible!

This is making no sense at all right now. Ah well...

See ya next time I update... whenever that might be.
